TO MEMORY TIMELINE
Among my favourite memories of Ed and Michelle are the many times we dined at the Penang Coffee House in Hawthorn. Fleur and Sam also often dined there, and they will be familiar with Jim, the owner, and his descriptions of the restaurant's dishes, such as 'more meat, less fat'; and if you asked for coffee, he would say, 'it's only instant coffee'. Apparently, in Penang, a 'coffee house' doesn't necessarily serve coffee. We went there many times for meals, and there was plenty of laughter as we enjoyed the food - and the floor show put on by Jim.
