Dearest Jan, I hope you realised how lovely it was to chat and spend time with you. Aside from your broad and highly intellectual knowledge of all things books/ life and the world I feel you were a great inspiration. I admired your strength and greatly enjoyed our time together. You were a fantastic woman, highly intelligent and with a vibrant sense of humour. You valued your family greatly and you often spoke of how proud you were. You will be greatly missed, wishing your family and friends condolences during this difficult time xxx

Jan was a great friend and I will miss her greatly. She was highly intelligent, knowledgeable, courageous, resilient, caring, passionate and inspirational -one of a kind. I am comforted by knowing her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren, who she greatly loved.

Jan you were always such a special friend to my mum Annette Milnes. I remember from when I was a little girl hearing your lovely laugh whilst you & Mum were enjoying a cup of tea together. My siblings & I all got baptised at the one time. You & Jerry & Peter & Val were allocated 2 to each of us as Godparents. No one really knew who was with who but I remember telling you that you were my Godmother as you are my favourite. RIP Jan xx
