I just heard this heartbreaking news. No words can do you justice but here goes.... The most influential soul that I had the pleasure of sharing a very special part of my life with. My formative years were formed in part thanks to the love, the lessons, and the laughter that Sandra blessed me with. There were smiles as well as stern words when deserved, she reinforced in me the meaning of integrity. I had two speeds, slow and backwards, was often reminded to have a grown up look and given plenty of material (besides these two) that I often pull out to those around me (always crediting "my old boss & second mum"). Thank you dear Sandra for your patience and everything you gave me, including the multiple second chances. Barely a day has gone by that you haven't been somewhere in my thoughts and this will never change. My love goes with you as you retake your place in the Universe.

Sandra. You played such a huge part in facilitating a strong and genuine music culture with your pubs. Thank you x. Jeremy Smith.

We were so lucky to have you as our mother. Through the best of times and the worst of times, you were always my go-to woman. Wise words, funny words, insights into the behaviours of men, politicians, our society - was there a subject you did not have an opinion? A spokesperson, a businesswoman, a matriarch, you held centre stage in every room. You taught us everything we needed to know to survive and thrive in this crazy world. You were the embrace I ran to - from a child to a grieving wife, you have been my comfort, my rock, my foundation. Your pride and joy in my achievements, your sympathy and compassion in my failures, have been the constant in my life. We laughed at everything, and everyone, except those rightwing politicians that we loved to loathe - you big leftie, you crazy cat lady. I can go on with the pain of your passing because you made me strong. Love you forever, Mum
