I won't forget Daryl's kind smile and his appreciation of my sausage rolls!

Daryl had a quality not shared by many - a great Black Rock and Melbourne person.

Rest easy, friend.

Daryl was one of those people who you were always happy to have a chat with - over the past 50 odd years. Always relaxed and cheerful, with a cheeky grin and never a bad word. Sorry to see you go old mate. RIP.

We were very sad to hear of Daryl's passing last week. He was always a gentleman & ready for a chat, and we have really missed seeing him at gigs over recent years.
We have lovely memories of Daryl over the past 50 years but the image of a very happy Daryl at the top of a "human pyramid" at Ian Bland's home in 1977 will always be fondly remembered.
He will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Daryl

Very sad to see you go Daryl.
Known Daryl for about 50 years
Boy did we have some good times at the Pub at the footy watching Sandy and at Black Rock watching the Rockers
Gods speed for you my friend
RIP

I lived in a share house with Daryl in Red Bluff Street in 1973. We ran garbage together for the Sandy council. You learn a lot about someone when you run alongside them for 6 hours, emptying people’s garbage. We laughed an awful lot. We also cooked for one another when neither of us was very good at it.
We went to Festival Hall that year, to see the Faces. Ronnie Lane had left not long before. Daryl was a fan of Ronnie Lane, and expressed his disappointment at his non appearance. That night it was Kenny Jones, Ian McLagan, Ronnie Wood, Phil Chen (he did a great job), and Rod Stewart. It was an amazing show.
I am sad that Daryl has died. I hadn’t seen him for many years, but he was a sweet, sweet man, and kind. Condolences to those who were close. ❤️

I first met Daryl in the early 90’s at the Bleak House where he was painting., where he affectionately earned the nickname Rembrandt. Our friendship was rekindled in the early 2000’s where he became a tenant in our upstairs apartment of our business premises the Highett Lotto. We enjoyed many a Friday night session’s in the rear court yard & at the Highett RSL. Thanks for friendship & the good times. God speed on your next journey Daryl. Our most sincere condolences to the entire family & friends. R.IP💙🙏

I don't remember teaching Daryl at Haileybury, but we got to know one another in the occasional lunches organised by Ian Cox and Ian Bland. So pleased that Ian Bland was with Daryl in his last hours.

We are saddened by the passing Daryl.
With many treasured memories of the Christmases you visited us on the farm and time you spent with our family, when everyone ate too much, and told funny stories. Lots of laughs and noise, so Daryl would disappear for a few minutes to get some fresh air. Remembering those times. Respected and loved older Brother and Brother in law to Rohan and Sue. Much loved Uncle Daryl of Bryan, Janelle, Stephen, Christopher and Adrian and their partners.
Cherished memories
