I have only just become aware of Franks passing. I played in Franks squash team for a few years. A true gentleman on the court, and off court as well. Sadly missed.

My friendship with Frank began at Xavier followed by Law School and residence at Newman College where we room shared in our final year 1954 . In 1960 I room shared in Geelong West with John Mc Cashney (dec'd ) whose daughter, Fiona , married Frank's son, Paul. That qualified me to propose a toast to the bridal couple.
Over decades my wife, Peg, and I holidayed together with Frank & Rita- Point Lonsdale,
Merimbula,Noosa, etc. Frank would thrash me at golf-anyone could- and he was always ambitious to get the better of me at tennis and table tennis. We also enjoyed together racedays at Moonee Valley Flemington and country venues.
What Frank achieved was all by sheer hard work- as a student, a barrister, and as a Judge. His integrity was unquestionable. He was generous in a multitude of ways.He was of good humour and easy to be with. He had a multitude of friends ( not Derryn Hinch perhaps ).
He loved and devoted himself to his family.
Vale, Frank, dear friend. May you rest in peace.

Wonderful memories of Judge Frank - from my Uni days as a now lifelong friend of Greg and the times we invaded their Kew home, to our shared time in the County Court when I was a judge and he was an associate (oh wait, other way around). He was always a welcoming, gracious and friendly man. My love goes out to Greg, Amanda and Paul and all the grandkids who will miss him dearly but I’m sure are comforted that Rita was there waiting for him and asking why he took so long. A life of love and well lived. ❤️
