What a wonderful celebration of this beautiful man. Only wish I had more time to reconnect with him on his return to Victoria to discuss our shared love of music, performing, drama, tech equipment. The speakers all spoke beautifully and from the heart, and discovered so much more about him that was amazing, and so similar to me. A lot of musos I know do carry a little demon in their ear (I call it the "Tears of a clown" syndrome) . They see us on stage looking like we are so happy and joyous (which we are when performing, music does that) and don't think we could possibly be down or blue. I'm only glad that I got to see him and Kathy at a gig on the Saturday and have a conversation with him (about music and equipment of course). Rest, not in peace, but in a cacophony of music Grant. You are, and will be, missed by so many.

(We were all aged around 19 - 21.)
I was fortunate in being able to watch Grant's funeral with his great mate, Maurice Hall.. We will all remember the exciting, wonderful and hilarious times we had together.. the bottles of port-on-the-beach on cold winter's nights..trips down south.. jamming sessions at 63 Mary Street, Como.. motorbike riding at Suzey's farm.. Rotto.. Pub gigs.. the list goes on..
We will always think of Grant with love and will remember him fondly forever.. Rest in peace, dear Grunter.. We will miss you greatly... until we catch up on the other side..

To Kathryn and all of Grant's family, it was lovely in recent times to catch up via cyber space with Grant and several others of a most memorable crew from Willeton High School where I was privileged to teach in the early 1980s. I have vivid memories of a very talented young man with a warm smile, a hearty laugh and a rich voice. His passing has moved me deeply but no doubt you, like me, have wonderful memories of a gifted person that will sustain you as you come to terms with it. Go well, treat yourselves gently and find his star in the sky; I'm sure it will be one of the brightest...

My deepest condolences,
I have nothing but great memories of Grant , he would always be one of the first people to strike up a conversation with me for ages at Christmas gatherings or the odd family catch up. He Always was full of knowledge, his passion for music and information on everything, was incredible.

I'll cherish the memories of how welcoming he was while I had a brief stay in Palm Cove and Cairns in 2022 , while visting Aunty Kathy.

To Kathy, Coralie and all the Broomhall family we extend our condolences to you on the passing of Grant.
Even though we were long distance cousins, the few times we caught up were always enjoyable.

Even though it’s been many years since our paths have crossed I remember Grant from Willetton HS days as always happy, cheerful & friendly.
Loved following your adventures around Australia.

I met Grant in the late 80's, thru mutual friends Ian Weir & Maurice Hall. We jammed a few times, all of us. Grant & I bonded over music (Don Walker/Cold Chisel, Doors, Talking Heads etc), & film & books. (We were even in a band for 5 minutes together, called Suspect.)
Whilst in film school, Grant made a music video for my band Organism.

We all had our music dream of moving to Melbourne, and Grant beat us there. We spent quite a bit of time together after i ended up in Melb in 1990. (He put us up for a week or so on our arrival.)
As he said: "...part of the family."

He helped me with Graphic Art for my 1st music releases. He saw us play. We saw him play keyboards in Noisy Neighbours & The Callboys.

I was one of his groomsmen.

Grant stayed in my life as his kids were born.

He moved interstate a bit but we always caught up to share food, drink, fun & music.

I'm glad we did. So sad that it ends here.

My thoughts are with the family at this time of sorrow.
I am so glad that we had a chance to catch up again a number of times recently after so many years. My memories of Grant range from his bedroom littered with model aircraft, to playing gangsters in high school theatre up to our latest reunion when you invited us to Palm Cove.
I hope to see you on the other side my friend and you can play me a cheesy 80's tune on the keyboard.
Until then, cheers Grant, you were one of a kind!

Dearest Kathy & Family,

It was wonderful to reacquaint ourselves with Grant and meet you for the first time, when you dropped into Perth on your epic round Australia tour in 2022. You and Grant showed us great hospitality when we visited you in Cairns the following year. Through it all I came to appreciate that Grant was the same warm and affable bloke we knew and loved, 45 years ago in high school.
