Dear Uncle Kevin and Janice,
I'm deeply saddened to learn about Aunty Kathleen's demise. I knew her when she wS in SL and I was a little girl back then.Aunty Kathleen and my aunty Imali were very close friends and colleagues at Albert Edirisinghe's way back in 1972/73. I still remember Aunty Kathleen coming home after work and playing lexicon with me . When she got married to Uncle Kevin she migrated to Australia and kept in touch with my aunt Imali ( she too passed away in 2017 and Uncle Elroy is still there.)for some time.
I'm so sorry for your loss and pray that you will find comfort and strength to move on reminiscing of her kind and loving ways. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace! 🙏

There aren’t enough words to describe the depth of grief you feel when your parent dies. It’s a fundamental reshaping of the world and of your heart. I know how deeply you love your mum and sensed how absolutely adored you are. You gave so much to help your mum navigate her illness and were strong for her and your dad. I hope now while you are experiencing distress and heartache that the love of your friends can help hold you. Sending you lots of love

Renny & Maryanne Raux on 13 November, 2025 at 10:35pm

Our darling Katho, a wonderful sister-in-law, treasured aunt and grand aunt but most of all you were like a sister to Rens and me. Thank you for always being there for us and sharing all our family's milestones. Thank you for loving Bianca and Brittany like your own and extending that love for Isaiah, Elodie and Eli.

A gentle woman with a forgiving nature, who had time for everyone, was always ready to help and saw the best in everyone.

I will miss our little chats and your cheeky jokes but most of all we will miss you and your beautiful smile. Our family gatherings will never be the same without you and your delicious fish pastries.

We are heartbroken but we will keep your memory alive by remembering the good times we shared together. Rest in peace Katho.

Dear Kathy
Rest in peace.
You were such a kind, gentle, and thoughtful friend. Your laugh, your warmth, and the way you genuinely cared for others made time with you so special.
You had a quiet strength and a steady faith that touched everyone around you. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we take comfort knowing you’re at peace and in God’s care.
You will be deeply missed and remembered with love always.
Our deepest condolences to Kevin and Janice.
May God give both of you comfort and strength through this difficult time.

Terry, Gillian & Rebecca Jansen on 13 November, 2025 at 6:55pm

Kathleen, I was so proud to call you my cousin. You were such a kind, gentle, and warm-hearted person. Your gentle presence, kind spirit, and unwavering faith touched everyone around you. You had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and valued — a reflection of the love of Christ that shone through you.

Though our hearts ache with your passing, we take comfort in the promises of God, knowing that your journey has not ended, only changed. You are now in the presence of the Lord you loved so dearly.

As Scripture reminds us:
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
— 2 Corinthians 5:8

Forever in our hearts, Kathleen. Until we meet again.

Aunty Kathleen was more than an aunt, she was the steady heartbeat of our family from the moment we set foot in Australia. Our rock, our mum, the kids' grandma, and our dearest friend. Her love wrapped around us like a warm blanket, offering comfort in every season of our lives.

She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether it was a kind word, a home-cooked meal, or simply her gentle presence, she always knew how to lift our spirits and remind us that we were never alone. Aunty Katho gave her time, her strength, and her heart freely, never asking for anything in return.

She carried our joys and our burdens as if they were her own, and through every challenge, she stood firm, guiding us with patience and compassion. Her home was always open, her arms always ready for a hug, and her heart always full of love.

Though we will miss her voice, her laughter, and her wisdom, we will carry her spirit with us in our stories, our traditions, and the way we care for one another. Her love built the foundation of our family in this land - our new home, and that love will continue to hold us together.

Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, Aunty Katho until we meet again. Thank you for being our strength, our comfort, and our constant source of love. You will forever live on in our hearts.

Sonia/ Devin/Jess Peiris on 13 November, 2025 at 10:24am

Kevin and Janice our deepest condolences.
Katho you were our secret~keeper. You supported us during Glenn’s illness and passing away, you were our light. You were more a sister to me than a sister in law who offered warmth without judgment. laughter without effort, and love without end. You had an intuitive way of knowing when we needed comfort or courage and you were always there sometimes with advice. Sometimes with a cup of tea always with a loving heart. We will miss you everyday of our life but your legacy is loud to those you touched. We honour you today with gratitude and sorrow .We are thankful for every shared memory and sorrowful for all we had yet to do. Our tribute can’t capture the fullness of your spirit , but we’ll never lose the bond we hold. You will always be remembered more than a sister in law a loving Aunty you were a soul companion.
May your beautiful soul rest in peace until we meet again.
🙏🙏
