  Our Detho was a funny, happy, and loving grandfather and great-grandfather. His laughter could fill a room, and his singing — especially his renditions of Elvis Presley — always brought smiles. He adored our Baba and was a devoted father to my mum, Suzie, who passed away 15 years ago. He carried that love in everything he did. He took pride in his old-school shoemaking, made his famous home remedies, and never missed a chance to joke about getting younger every day. Some of my happiest memories are simple: trips to the park and being allowed to choose anything from the milk bar, moments full of joy and love.
