Dearest Jan, I hope you realised how lovely it was to chat and spend time with you. Aside from your broad and highly intellectual knowledge of all things books/ life and the world I feel you were a great inspiration. I admired your strength and greatly enjoyed our time together. You were a fantastic woman, highly intelligent and with a vibrant sense of humour. You valued your family greatly and you often spoke of how proud you were.
You will be greatly missed, wishing your family and friends condolences during this difficult time xxx

Jan was a great friend and I will miss her greatly. She was highly intelligent, knowledgeable, courageous, resilient, caring, passionate and inspirational -one of a kind. I am comforted by knowing her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren, who she greatly loved.

Jan you were always such a special friend to my mum Annette Milnes. I remember from when I was a little girl hearing your lovely laugh whilst you & Mum were enjoying a cup of tea together.
My siblings & I all got baptised at the one time. You & Jerry & Peter & Val were allocated 2 to each of us as Godparents. No one really knew who was with who but I remember telling you that you were my Godmother as you are my favourite. RIP Jan xx

Dearest AJ
We hope you knew just how much you meant to us and how much we loved you. Always there with loving support and words of wisdom, kindness and understanding.
You’ve left a hole in our lives and we’ll miss you forever. We hope you’re living it up (with Keith!) wherever you are right now.
With love, Judith, Cheryl and Carol

It's difficult to find the words to convey how I miss Jan. She had such a warm, happy smile and she was prepared to laugh at herself. We did giggle more than we should have in pilates classes and we shared a passion for reading. I found it hard to suggest a book which she hadnt read!Although I only knew her for a relatively short time, I really miss her , so I can't imagine how hard it must be for her family and close friends. My deepest condolences to you all.

Wish I had known you longer dearest beautiful Jan , you really did know how to make us laugh during your Pilates sessions , I think we entertained each other with our stories! and I loved the fact that you always left so happy after your session .
You are and will be missed ,
Love to all your family xx

I can't believe you are not on the other end of a regulat phone call to catch up on some enjoyable conversation. But you took off on your terms as you wanted.
Thanks for over 60 years of a special friendship
Annette and Brian

So sad to hear the loss of your beautiful mum, Alicia, Steve and Ash. Mrs Davidson she was in the early 80s but easily became Jan to me.
Many happy memories of Vermont days - introducing me to fine knitted garments, avocados, love of Italy and good humour even up until last week at her bedside.
Condolences to you all and your little families.
Addio dear Jan,
Kay and Phil
